Robin Hood: Prince of the Thieves

1. What were the crusades about?
A reconquest of Jerusalem (the holy land)

2. How about the same period in Spain and Catalonia?
The Spanish men were reconquering Spain and they were fighting against the moors.

3. Where's Robin Hood at the beginning of the film?
In Jerusalem. He is captured and tortured by Saladí, but he get to escape with Azeem and Peter, his comrade.

3. Why is Azeem with Robin?
Because Robin saved the life of Azeem. Azeem will accompany Robin until the debt of saving is repaid

4. Where do Robin and Azeem go?
To England.

5. Who are the outlaws? Where do they live?
They are a forest man.

6. What happened to Robin's father?
He is killed by the Sheriff of Nothingam.

7. Who's Lady Marian?
The sister of Peter.

Because they think that together win the Sheriff.

Film: Shakespeare in Love


1. WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SHAKESPEARE?
He is the best english playwright of the world. He lived 52 years (1564-1616), and wrote famous plays. Two of them is Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613.

2. THEATRE AT SHAKESPEARE TIMES: THE GLOBE.
The theatre where shakespeare publish his plays was called the Globe. Was an important theatre for London

3. ROMEO AND JULIET. PLOT SUMMARY.
Romeo and Juliet was an important play. Is about the impossible love. Romeo love Juliet and she love he, but their families are enemies. Romeo's judged by the prince, who do the death sentence.

Can you find any similarities with the film?
Yes, there are any similarities. Shakespeare (Romeo) love Viola (Juliet), but they are in different social status. Viola must married with Lord Wessex (Paris account). In the end of the movie Viola go to America and finally they separated.


THE FILM:

William Shakespeare is a poor playwright for 1593 London. After learning that his love was cheating on him with his patron, Shakespeare burns his new comedy, Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter, rewriting it as the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Suffering from writer's block, he is unable to complete the play, but begins auditions for Romeo. A young man named Thomas Kent is cast in the role after impressing Shakespeare with his performance and his love of Shakespeare's previous work. Kent is actually Viola de Lesseps, the daughter of a wealthy merchant who desires to act, but women are banned from the stage and she must disguise herself.
